Special Unit on Variance and repeated measures

This video shows, from a real consulting case, some of the considerations we are faced with when planning an experiment where subjects are treated over time.

After introducting some typical conundrums of estimating variance (or standard deviation) for repeated measures, we simulate a database for comparing the following approaches to analysis:

  1. Measure at the last visit (only the one measure)
  2. Delta baseline at last visit
  3. Measure at last visit with baseline as covariate
  4. Delta baseline at last visit with baseline as covariate
  5. Delta baseline as percentage of baseline
